Bone Riders
A downloadable game
Bone Riders is a game about skeleton cowboys that solve problems with their guns and also with their bones.
You can play it on your own or with a couple of friends, I don't mind.
- Generate a town and surrounding locations, identify trouble, and make plan to solve it using your gun, bones, and money.
- Each Bone Rider has a medically-accurate 206 bones, which can be used to make checks in times of uncertainty.
- Bone Riders also have a gun, which is fun to use, and money, which isn't. This is reflected in the mechanics.
- A memorable cast of non-player characters including Longtooth Mary the lycanthrope weapons expert, the successful but intensely unlikeable Baron von Bone, and fishing minigame host JJ McFish.
- Actually a surprisingly decent game in spite of all this
Work in Progress: Bone Riders is complete and ready to play, but I am still adding more art, adjusting layout, and refining the text to make sure the game as presented in the book accurately reflects the intended play experience.

BONE RIDERS
Bone Riders is one of those games where the mechanics, the content and the theme tie together so wonderfully and intuitively that it's so easy to lean into the role play.
The encounters are creative and prompt hilarity whilst the lore system for getting clues ensures you aren't stuck for what to do.
I know basically nothing about Westerns but turns out all you need is a penchant for dispensing justice from your 6 shooter and perhaps a dodgy Southern drawl.
Must play!!
Bone Riders has a quirky setting and fun procedures that have you racing across the map trying to find lore and earn money before the Trouble strikes. It's really easy to pick up and play, the rules are fun (and funny), and also based on real! life! science! (you have 206 bones).
I'm playing it solo and my little skeleton cowboy recently arrived back in town with just 6 bones left demanding whisky, after helping a conductor find his lost hat, frightening a herd of ghostly wildebeests so JJ McFish could get back to their fishing, and working a shift in the silver mines for money and gossip about the Bounty Hunter stalking the Bone Wastes.
